Happy Father’s Day!

June 14th, 2017 | Pastor Dale Montgomery

God has commissioned every father to lovingly lead, protect, and provide for his family. Being a father is a tremendous privilege and responsibility. As we honor our fathers on this Father’s Day weekend, let us also meditate on our amazing heavenly Father Who is the supreme example to every earthly father. Whether your father is alive or has passed, whether he was a godly man or an ungodly man, we all have the same opportunity to enjoy a special Father-child relationship with God. He created you. He loves you. He affirms us when we do right and chastens us when we do wrong. If you are a father, follow the heavenly Father’s example. If God has forgiven you of your sins and made you a new creation, live to please Him! Happy Father’s Day!

Great Is Thy Faithfulness!

June 2nd, 2017 | Pastor Dale Montgomery

We serve a faithful God! Every day we wake up we see all around us the proofs of God’s faithfulness. We don’t have to worry about whether or not the sun will rise. We don’t have to guess about whether or not God will provide food for us to eat. Witnessing God’s faithfulness should cause us to praise him. He is not a make-believe or an artificial God Who has no power or ability. He is a present God who is actively involved in our daily lives. Faithful in creation. Faithful to keep His promises. Faithful to forgive. Faithful to guide. Are we faithful to give Him the praise He deserves?

Singing in the Storm

May 26th, 2017 | Pastor Dale Montgomery

Not too long ago after a storm had just passed, our children noticed a little bird singing at the top of its lungs. The clouds were still gray, and the ground was still wet, but the bird still had its song. Life is filled with storms. These storms can be dark and scary, and drench every part of our lives. However, for the Christian, the storm can’t steal our song. Scripture repeatedly exhorts us to sing unto the Lord. Psalm 95:1 “O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.” Maybe a storm has blown into your life this week or maybe a storm is just up ahead. Either way, keep right on singing because God is stronger than the storm.

The Blessing of the Children’s Ministry

April 29th, 2016 | Pastor Dale Montgomery

Children's Ministry Meeting

One of the greatest ministries of the church is the children’s ministry. When Jesus’ disciples asked who was the greatest, without hesitation, Jesus pointed them to a little child. This is a lesson that we need to be reminded of often. Consider these benefits of a strong children’s ministry: 1) children’s ministry honors the Lord. 2) children’s ministry challenges adults to be the right example since young people are always watching and listening.  3) children’s ministry trains future church leaders. 4) children’s ministry keeps us gospel-minded. 5) children’s ministry brings energy and excitement to the church. 6) children’s ministry provides families a place of security in and insecure world. 7) children’s ministry makes an eternal difference and protects children from the devastation of sin. Search the Scriptures and you will find that children’s ministry is not a new thing, but is taught all throughout the Bible. May God grow each of our hearts in ministering to children and their families in our community!

The Priority of Preaching

March 31st, 2016 | Pastor Dale Montgomery

God has set this church apart for His purpose and His glory. It is our desire here at SRBC to be everything that God intended a local church to be. In the New Testament, one of the vital activities of the church was to gather together to hear the preaching of God’s word. Today, preaching is often look down upon and seen as old-fashioned and harsh for our sophisticated society. However, the Bible tells us that God still manifests his word through preaching (Titus 1:3). True biblical preaching will always be done with passion for the truth and with compassion for people. We must always remember that the purpose of preaching is for God to change us and cause us to walk in obedience to His Word. Churches that value Bible-based preaching will always stay on course even when society changes. May God continue to give us a greater hunger for Christ-centered preaching that strengthens us to become everything God wants us to be!

Excited About Easter

March 23rd, 2016 | Pastor Dale Montgomery

Every Sunday is special for the Christian, but Easter Sunday is extra special as we reflect on our Savior’s victory over death. In this life, we do everything to try to avoid the gloomy subject of death, but Christ defeated death once and for all. Jesus demonstrated His deity when he conquered death. His resurrection from the dead removes all doubt about whether or not we can trust that he is God. What hope this gives to us as we live on this temporal world and look forward to eternity! The angel at the tomb of Jesus asked this question, “Why seek ye the living among the dead?” Far too many people today are searching for eternal life in the cemeteries of entertainment, careers, and relationships. Our hope is build on Jesus Christ and nothing less! -Pastor Dale Montgomery

Demolition in Progress

March 18th, 2016 | Pastor Dale Montgomery

We praise God for the great progress made this week in the demolition and land clearing on our church property. This has been a giant step forward towards us getting relocated on to our church property in the next few months. We have also been making headway towards securing the building permit and as well as closing on the loan for our new building. The wonderful church family of SRBC has had a great pioneering spirit throughout the past several years of meeting in the hotel facilities, and we are excitedly anticipating being able to meet in our own place in the near future. By God’s grace, we continue to move forward by faith!

The Light of God’s Word

December 11th, 2015 | Pastor Dale Montgomery

Long before there were modern methods of navigation like compasses and GPS’s, people relied upon the light of the stars for direction. The wise men in the Christmas story closely observed the stars in anticipation of the coming Christ, and were led directly to the Lord Jesus. Today, as we diligently study the Word of God, we can confidently follow every word for daily direction. This Christmas season, determine to read, meditate, memorize, and most of all, apply God’s Word to your life. Those who choose to navigate this life by the light of God’s Word will never regret it! Fifth Anniversary Celebration

August 7th, 2015 | Pastor Dale Montgomery

5th Anniversary

We give God all the glory as we celebrate the fifth anniversary of Savannah River Baptist Church! There is no question that God is the One who has raised up this local church and has knit the hearts of every church member together. What a blessing it has been over the past five years to be able to worship and work together for the glory of God. We have seen that God truly “is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.” Our church exists for such a time as this, and I look forward with great anticipation to God magnifying Himself through the SRBC family!

A Team Spirit

Portrait of Happy Family In Park

A team spirit is one of the marks of a healthy church. In all that we do, our goal is the glory of God. It is our bond in Christ that enables us to work together and stay together. No one person is more important than the other. God uniquely gifts each one of us in different ways to accomplish his purpose. Thank you for your whole hearted participation in the work of God through Savannah River Baptist Church!
