Running a Different Race

running feet

One of the very first races I ever participated in was the Tybee Island 5k. I was 13 years old and it was a bitterly cold morning. The unique thing about the race was that it was a combination of three different races: a marathon, half marathon, and 5k. Most of the people I saw at the starting line I was not even competing against because we were running completely different races! As a Christian, we are running a completely different race from the world.  First Peter 4:4 reminds us, “Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them…” The world may look at you and think it’s odd when you read your Bible during a lunch break or choose to go to church every Sunday. Just remember we are not running our race for culture’s approval, but for God’s. Start this week off right by remembering to run for God’s approval!
